Silent Film Night

There will be a program of classic silent film comedy shorts starring Harold Lloyd with live orchestral accompaniment at the DMC.  Harold Lloyd is one of the greatest silent film comedians of all time (rivaled only by Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton).  The films costar actress Bebe Daniels who visited Danbury in 1928 to christen the launch of the Palace Theatre.

The Danbury Vaudeville Orchestra will be providing the music.  The group is made up of musicians from the DMC community and is led by Michael Bank.  The group is a small ensemble modeled on the group in residence at the Palace Theatre.  The accompaniment is comprised of authentic musical selections that could have been heard at the films’ premieres.  Relive some classic silent comedy just as it would have been experienced 100 years ago in Danbury.
