CMI String Orchestra Concerto Competition

CMI String Orchestra Concerto Competition:

String, wind, and percussion CMI participants may audition to perform a movement of a work for their instrument and string orchestra.

The winner will perform the work with other CMI Participants and Artist-Faculty on August 8th as part of the Charles Ives Concert Series at the City Center Downtown Green in Danbury

Interested participants must receive advance approval for their selected work by e-mailing as soon as possible. Interested participants may ask for advance approval before being accepted to the program as to give them time to prepare for the competition. Single movements preferred.

The competition will take place Saturday, June 23rd at the Danbury Music Centre and will be judged by CMI Artist-Faculty and the Artistic Director. Participants must provide their own accompanists.

Interested participants must officially sign up to participate by Friday, June 1st by sending an e- mail to with the work and movement they have chosen and submitting a $25 audition/proctoring fee by check or online.

The winner will be selected at the conclusion of the competition the same day.
