Guest Conductor

Joyce Flanagan is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University and holds Bachelor’s and
Master’s of Science degrees in Music Education. She also holds a Masters in Supervision and
Administration from Southern Connecticut State University. Joyce was the Choral Director and
Chairperson of the Visual and Performing Arts at Ridgefield High School for 35 years. In 1988,
Joyce was chosen to represent the state of Connecticut at the Cambridge Choral Studies
summer program in Cambridge, England under the direction of John Rutter, David Wilcocks and
Stephen Cleobury. Joyce’s choral ensembles have toured the United Kingdom and parts of
Europe and have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Joyce would like to thank the
Danbury Music Centre and the Danbury Concert Chorus for the opportunity to be their guest
conductor.
