Scott Toperzer is a conductor and singer living in Ridgefield, CT. He has served as the Music Director at St. Stephen’s Church since 2010. He has conducted choral ensembles such as AMUSE (NYC) and the University of Oklahoma Chorus. His singing career included operatic and concert appearances with the opera companies of Arizona, St. Louis, Washington Concert, Opera North, Delaware, Caramoor, and Tanglewood Festial. His concert appearances have been heard over National Public Radio and have included organizations such as the Boston Symphony, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Tanglewood Festival, and The Plymouth Music Series of Minnesota. Scott has performed leading and supporting roles under the direction of Seiji Ozawa, Robert Shaw, Helmuth Rilling, and David Zinman, and studied with the world renowned French baritone, Gérard Souzay at the Institute Musicale de Villecroze, in Villecroze, France.
Scott holds degrees from Boston University, the University of Oklahoma, and Bethel College in St. Paul, MN. Scott has a wife, Lydia, two beautiful children, Ben and Grace, and the world’s best dog, Gryphon.
